Recently, the St. Paul’s Foundation held the fourth edition of the Welcome Barbecue at St. Paul’s School. This event brings together families of both new and current scholarship pupils for a warm and welcoming moment of integration.

This annual tradition, supported by our partnership with Sodexo, offers a valuable opportunity for connection among students and their families, allowing everyone to engage and interact with one another.

The lunch takes place during the first weeks of the academic year, so that all scholarship pupils can begin their journey at St. Paul’s with a new and stronger support network — connected to peers from different year groups and their families — while also fostering a greater sense of belonging to the school community.

This year, the 15 new scholars who joined St. Paul’s had the opportunity to meet all their fellow scholars, along with their parents and siblings, sharing experiences and forming bonds that will be meaningful throughout their time at school. For returning pupils, the barbecue serves as a chance to inspire the newcomers.

The event brought together 50 families, who enjoyed a relaxed and heart-warming moment of connection: “It was a moment of care, affection and attention, provided by the Foundation, who planned every detail so lovingly,” said Ellen, mother of Arthur, a Form 5 pupil.

The lunch was also attended by members of the St. Paul’s and Foundation leadership teams, who celebrated the arrival of the new students: “It is truly wonderful to welcome you all during such a special and long-awaited occasion,” shared Mrs Martina Oparaocha, Head of Senior School.

We look forward to continuing this beautiful tradition, nurtured over the years, so that all scholars can strengthen their bonds and enrich their journeys at St. Paul’s!
