Welcome to the 2026–2027 academic year!
The new school year has begun, and with it we welcomed new St. Paul’s Foundation scholars, who now join Forms 1, 2 and 3. With this new cohort, the Foundation continues to support 50 scholars across St. Paul’s Senior School.
We have also begun a new stage of the 2026–2027 Selection Process: 20 students have been chosen for the first term of this year’s Prep Course — the final step on the path to winning a scholarship to St. Paul’s School in August 2027.
And, of course, we celebrated the Class of 2026: congratulations to the seven Foundation scholars who completed their journey at St. Paul’s this year and are now heading off to universities in Brazil and the United States!
And, just before term began, some of our scholars spent the summer on summer courses at universities including Columbia, Cambridge, Oxford and HKUST. Look out for their experiences in our next post!
Recap: the 2025–2026 academic year and St. Paul’s Centenary
Before moving on, it’s worth looking back and revisiting the highlights of the second half of the 2025–2026 academic year. These months were among the most memorable in the history of both the St. Paul’s Foundation and the school itself: alongside St. Paul’s School, we marked a truly unique milestone — the school’s Centenary — while also strengthening the long-term future of our Scholarship Programme. Join us as we look back at the key moments.
February: kicking off the countdown to 100 years
The year began with eyes already fixed on a landmark date: in February 2026, St. Paul’s turned 100. The school unveiled the first details of the St. Paul’s School Centenary, along with a new campaign and visual identity under the theme Greatness in Motion, while we kicked off promotion of the new 2026–2027 Selection Process stage for young people competing for Full Scholarships at St. Paul’s School.
A number of special events marked the school’s centenary:
- The official birthday celebration, bringing together students from every year group and staff for a day of group activities, music, games and cake;
- A launch cocktail party for the Centenary commemorative book and exhibition, attended by parents, teachers, staff, Old Pauleans and special guests — an evening dedicated to remembering the past and shaping the school’s future.
Selection in full swing and celebrations in style
Applications for the 2026–2027 Selection Process remained open until 30 March, closing with around 120 students registered. At the same time, the second term of the 2025–2026 Prep Course was under way, with students getting an even closer look at the St. Paul’s teaching model.
Still as part of the school’s anniversary celebrations, we launched the Centenary Donor Fund, created to invite families, Old Pauleans and the wider community to play an active part in building St. Paul’s next 100 years — with every contribution going directly towards the Scholarship Programme.
In April, the school and the St. Paul’s Foundation welcomed the whole community, partners and sponsors to the Centenary Gala Dinner, a special evening celebrating the past and shaping the future of the Paulean community. The dinner featured live music, an exclusive gourmet menu and tributes to St. Paul’s history — and, most importantly, all proceeds from the event went towards the Scholarship Programme, helping keep alive the legacy of widening access to education for new generations.
End of term: the Prep Course home stretch and the final Centenary events
In May, students from the 2025–2026 Selection Process continued their final-term classes, attending three lessons a week at St. Paul’s, before moving on to the final scholar selection in June, keeping up the pace of three classes a week at St. Paul’s right through to the end of the month — the last step before the new scholars were chosen.
June also closed out the calendar of major Centenary events, with Old Pauleans Day, the Centenary Finale at Sala São Paulo, and International Day keeping the Paulean community buzzing.
