On the evening of the Centenary Gala Dinner, St Paul’s School brought together its community to celebrate a historic milestone—its 100th anniversary—in an event that combined tradition, connection and purpose.

From the reception, with cocktails and ambient music, guests were welcomed into a setting that also invited reflection: panels showcased the school’s six core values—Kindness, Integrity, Aspiration, Adventure, Responsibility and Inclusion—reinforcing that, while the school evolves over time, its values remain the foundation, accompanying and guiding this transformation. Every detail of the evening contributed to creating an atmosphere worthy of the significance of the occasion.

The programme began with a musical performance by Old Paulean Marina Gold, bringing lightness and emotion to the moment. This was followed by the ceremony, led by fellow Old Paulean Anthony Well, who guided guests through a series of institutional speeches highlighting the school’s journey and its vision for the future. Among the speakers were the Headmaster, Mr Edge; the British Ambassador, Stéphanie Al-Quaq; the Chairman of FABEC, Philip Reade; and the Chairman of the St Paul’s Foundation, Tony Jezzi. “The community is the most important part of this team — what we need most from it is its support and guidance on how we will continue to uphold these values.”Shares Philip Reade, highlighting the importance of the community in shaping its values and future.

One of the central moments of the evening was dedicated to the St Paul’s Foundation and its bursary programme, highlighting the transformative impact of education and the ongoing commitment to expanding opportunities. On this occasion, the Centenary Donor Wall was unveiled as part of the recognition of the Centenary Donor Fund, alongside a moving video telling the story of João Gabriel, a former bursary student who is now studying at the University of Chicago—concretely connecting the school’s history with the future being built.

The auction and raffle brought energy and engagement to the event. Led by Breno Belo and Flavia Cardoso Soares, in partnership with Blombô, the auction featured special contributions such as Florencia Azcune—an Old Paulean and the curator of the artistic selection—as well as interactive moments that sustained the atmosphere in the room throughout the dinner.

To close the evening, the dance floor opened and the celebration continued in a relaxed spirit, with a performance by Sync String DJs, marking the end of an event that brought together different generations around a shared purpose.

Above all, the Centenary Gala Dinner showed the strength of the St Paul’s community—a celebration of what has been built so far and of the impact yet to come.
