We are very proud to share the outstanding achievement of one of our scholars. João Gabriel, currently in Form 5 (corresponding to the 1o ano do Ensino Médio in Brazilian education), won the silver medal in level 2 of the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics.

João Gabriel’s fantastic performance becomes even more impressive when we observe the scope of OBMEP: the first phase of the competition had more than 18 million candidates spread throughout Brazil. After their brilliant performance, the medalists are invited to participate in the PIC (Junior Scientific Initiation Program), an initiative in which outstanding teachers can guide young talents and have their first contact with scientific research, getting to know Mathematics beyond the classroom.

Another success story with Fundação pupils at OBMEP is our scholar Mariana, who obtained an Honorable Mention Certificate for outstanding results in the Olympiads.

In addition to the excellent performance inside and outside St. Paul’s School, we pride ourselves on the progress and development of the skills of Fundação St. Paul’s pupils.
