Today we share an inspiring story that makes everyone at the St. Paul’s Foundation very proud. One of our scholars has just graduated as a St. Paul’s School class of 2022 leaver and crowns his academic career with the opportunity to attend Higher Education in Germany.

João Pedro Eloy de Oliveira, known as JP, has completed his journey in Sixth Form and Ensino Médio at St. Paul’s School. He is the first school graduate of the new phase of the St. Paul’s Foundation scholarship programme, which started in 2018, the same year he applied through our partners at Ismart to run for a spot. JP commenced his studies at St. Paul’s in August 2019 on Form 5, and last month he attended his very own graduation ceremony, along with his family.

Now he begins a new phase in his life: the university. JP received an offer to study for a BA in Business and Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, in the Bavarian region. This study area has been on our scholar’s heart since he joined St. Paul’s. After years of dedication and following the Foundation and St. Paul’s School Scholarship Mentorship and University Guidance teams, the time has come to make this dream come true.

JP starts in September at one of Germany’s most respected educational institutions on a course 100% offered in English. Würzburg-Schweinfurt, founded in 1807, is the largest university in north Bavaria, and is today considered one of the best in Europe. In 2014, the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt received the Best-Strategy Award MINinternetional from the German Scientific Association.
