Last weekend, St. Paul’s School opened its doors to the 5th St. Paul’s Education Conference, an inspiring opportunity to share ideas and experiences. Under the theme Igniting Minds: what inspires you?, the school welcomed educators from many schools in Brazil and beyond — and the St. Paul’s Foundation was a hotspot at the event.

Around 350 delegates attended the event from Friday 4th November to Sunday 6th November, participating in different workshops, attending talks by the keynote speakers and also engaging with the exhibitors’ booths.

St. Paul’s Foundation held its very own photo booth, where delegates enjoyed taking instant photos or their own selfies with meaningful signs such as “I <3 Equality” and “Proud to be an educator”. Attendees also had the chance to leave notes and messages for our current scholars.

Parents and scholars volunteered at the booth throughout the weekend and shared some of their impressions:

Ana Cynthia, a scholar’ mom, said: “We were able to talk about the steps of the selection process, and share some important achievements of our scholars, as well as the Foundation’s goals for the coming years.” She states that the event was “an enriching and honourable opportunity to meet so many people committed to education and contributing to our country’s development”.

Antonio took visitors’ photos at the booth and is also a scholar at St. Paul’s. He said he was “very happy with the invitation [to volunteer as a photographer] and for being able to contribute to the Foundation in some way”. Gerusa also works as a professional photographer and she is the mother of one of our scholars. She shared she “loved the experience of being at the school with the teachers in a relaxed setting to talk about a very important matter: education”.

The booth was a success and helped raise awareness around our programme amongst the International Schools community in São Paulo.
