At St. Paul’s School, game evenings that test Pauleans’ knowledge are a tradition. And the St. Paul’s Foundation promises now to create a new one – the Quiz Night for Old Pauleans. The event has become synonymous with camaraderie, knowledge, and giving back, as it helps to raise awareness and funds for the Scholarship Programme.
Tailored for our former pupils, the Quiz Night expands the different ways the Old Pauleans can support the next generation of scholars. With over 100 attendees – including school alumni from different generations, their parents, friends, and supporters of the Foundation – the evening was a success. More than a knowledge contest, it was an opportunity to make a difference.
Guests got to step back onto the grounds of St. Paul’s to interact with their old friends and relive memories. Amidst the laughter, chatter and great food, they also put their intellect to the test with quizzes covering a variety of subjects. The menu included traditional school desserts (chocolate cake and apple crumble with custard – a huge success), delicious pizza, and special drinks that paid homage to the School Houses.
The night was also marked by a moving speech by Gregório, one of the Foundation’s scholars and current Upper Sixth pupil – in great timing to meet the audience, as he is soon becoming an Old Paulean too. With unwavering gratitude, he shared his transformative journey at St. Paul’s, highlighting the profound impact of the Scholarship Programme on his life and his family. His emotional testimonial served as a powerful reminder of the ripple effect of generosity, inspiring all present to continue their support.
St. Paul’s Headmaster, Mr Titus Edge, shared: “The Old Pauleans Quiz Night supporting the work of the St. Paul’s Foundation was a wonderful evening. Let’s continue to strive for an evermore inclusive and dynamic community.”
Attendees had the opportunity to support the St. Paul’s Foundation by making direct donations and purchasing various school-related items, from hats to dry-fit shirts and even small stuffed Lions!
