As we draw the curtains down on another eventful year, we also take this time to reflect on the multitude of achievements and memorable moments that have defined our journey at the St. Paul’s Foundation. Among the highlights, we proudly witnessed one of our scholars, who began their St. Paul’s adventure in 2020, graduating and venturing to the United States for university—a testament to the transformative impact of an academic journey at St. Paul’s.
Throughout the year, we welcomed a few special visitors, including JP, a former scholar, and Jonas, a former candidate, who shared the profound impact of the selection process on his life.
Our commitment to alumni engagement soared to new heights this year. From the Old Paulean Day in May to the resounding success of our Quiz Night for Old Pauleans, we celebrated the connections and the strong engagement with the school key values that transcend time.
The Coronation Cocktail Party, a grand culmination of the year, symbolised the remarkable growth of the Foundation and the community support to our mission since 2018, and allowed us to celebrate a grand and historical event like the King Charles III Coronation.
St. Paul’s also echoed with the vibrant activities of our pupils, from captivating performances in the school play to embarking on Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions, being awarded prizes for their academic performance, and contributing to the Junior McCann Society. Their unwavering dedication shone even during holidays, as four pupils ventured abroad for enriching summer courses in the US and Europe.
August brought a wave of fresh faces and boundless potential as 11 new scholars joined us for the 2023-2024 academic year. The traditional Foundation Barbecue was a joyous occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter for these bright minds. Simultaneously, a new cohort of candidates embarked on the Foundation Prep Course, and a chosen group will move forward to the second stage of the course next term.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire St. Paul’s community for their steadfast support throughout another triumphant year for our scholarship programme. Together, we’ve fostered growth, forged connections, and illuminated pathways to success. As we anticipate the dawn of a new year, we look forward to continuing this journey hand in hand, creating a legacy of education and empowerment. Thank you for being an integral part of our story.
